Cookie Policy

Last updated: 4 October, 2026

1. About this Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Sociocrush uses cookies and similar technologies on sociocrush.com and in the Sociocrush application (together, the "Service"). It explains what each one does, how long it lasts, who sets it, and how you can control it. Sociocrush is operated by Sociocrush Technologies, registered in India under Udyam Registration No. UDYAM-MH-26-1232140, with its registered office at 409, Parvati Park Society, Panmala, Sinhagad Road, Pune 411030, Maharashtra, India ("Sociocrush", "we", "us" or "our"). This Policy forms part of our Privacy Policy sociocrush.com/privacy, which explains how we handle personal data generally, and our Terms of Service sociocrush.com/terms.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser so that it can recognise your browser on later visits or remember information between pages. Some cookies are set by the website you are visiting ("first-party cookies"), and others by a different company whose service the website uses ("third-party cookies"). Some last only until you close your browser ("session cookies"); others remain until they expire or you delete them ("persistent cookies"). Similar technologies include browser local storage, which lets a website save small pieces of information on your device that are not automatically sent to its servers. In this Policy, "cookies" includes these similar technologies unless we say otherwise.

3. How we categorise cookies

We group the cookies and similar technologies we use into five categories:

  • Strictly necessary cookies are needed for the Service to work, for example to keep you signed in, keep your account secure, remember which Workspace you are working in, and remember your cookie choices. They do not require your consent and cannot be switched off without breaking the Service.
  • Preference technologies remember choices you make about how the Service looks and behaves, such as your colour theme. We use browser local storage for these, and it stays on your device.
  • Referral cookies record that you arrived through a referral link, so that you and the person who referred you receive referral credits.
  • Analytics cookies help us understand how people use the Service, so that we can improve it. We use them only with your consent.
  • Advertising cookies track you across websites to show you targeted advertising. We do not use any.

4. Cookies and local storage we use

sc_active_workspace_id (strictly necessary, first-party, persistent for 1 year). Remember which Workspace you are currently working in, so that the Service opens the right Workspace each time. It contains only an internal Workspace identifier, cannot be read by scripts in the page, and is sent only to sociocrush.com.

sc_active_brand_id (strictly necessary, first-party, persistent for 1 year). Remember which brand you are currently working on within your Workspace.

sc_onboarding_new_workspace (strictly necessary, first-party, expires after 30 minutes). Set only while you are creating a new Workspace, so that the setup steps complete correctly.

sc_cookie_consent (strictly necessary, first-party, persistent for 12 months). Record the choices you make in our cookie banner, consisting of the categories you accepted or rejected, the date and the version of this Policy, so that we respect them and do not ask you again on every visit.

Authentication cookies set by Clerk, our authentication provider (strictly necessary). These include __session and __client_uat on sociocrush.com, and __client on our authentication subdomain clerk.sociocrush.com. They keep you signed in, refresh your session securely, and protect your account against unauthorised access. The __session cookie expires after 60 seconds and is renewed automatically while you are signed in; __client and __client_uat are persistent and last until you sign out or your session expires, which is after no more than 7 days. Clerk processes them on our behalf, as described in our Privacy Policy.

_cfuvid (strictly necessary, set by Cloudflare on our authentication subdomain clerk.sociocrush.com on behalf of Clerk, expires when you close your browser). Helps protect sign-in against bots and abuse. It does not identify you and is not used for any other purpose.

sc_referral_code (referral, first-party, persistent for 30 days). Set only when you open Sociocrush through a referral link containing a referral code. It stores that code so that the referral can be credited when you sign up. It cannot be read by scripts in the page and is not used for any other purpose. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we set it only if you accept referral cookies in our banner. Elsewhere, it is set when you use a referral link, and you can delete it at any time through "Cookie settings" or your browser.

_ga (analytics, set by Google Analytics on sociocrush.com, persistent for 2 years). Distinguishes one browser from another, so that Google Analytics can count visits and measure how the Service is used. Set only if you accept analytics cookies.

_ga_<container-id> (analytics, set by Google Analytics on sociocrush.com, persistent for 2 years). Keeps track of your current visit, or session, for Google Analytics. Set only if you accept analytics cookies.

theme (preference, local storage, kept until you clear it). Remembers whether you chose the light, dark or system theme.

sociocrush:sidebar-collapsed (preference, local storage, kept until you clear it). Remembers whether you keep the navigation sidebar open or closed.

sociocrush:approval-comments-last-seen (preference, local storage, kept until you clear it). Remembers which comments on approval requests you have already seen, so that new comments can be highlighted.

These three local-storage items stay on your device, are never sent to our servers, and do not identify you.

5. Analytics

Google Analytics- We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use our website and application, for example which pages are visited, how people move through the Service, which features are used, and the type of device and browser used. We use this information only in aggregate, to improve the Service. Google Analytics is loaded only after you accept analytics cookies. Until then, no Google Analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google for analytics. We have configured Google Analytics so that:

  • Google signals and advertising features are switched off;
  • data is not used for advertising or personalisation;
  • user-level data is kept for 2 months and then deleted.

Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google may process this information in the United States and other countries, under the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy. You can find more about how Google uses this information at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can also install Google's opt-out browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Vercel Web Analytics- We also use Vercel Web Analytics, provided by Vercel Inc., our hosting provider, to measure page views and site performance. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies or store anything on your device. It counts visits using an anonymised identifier generated from your request, which is discarded every 24 hours and cannot be used to identify you or follow you across websites. Because it does not store or read anything on your device, it does not require cookie consent. We use it on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the performance of the Service.

6. Third-party cookies

When you pay for a subscription or top-up credits, our payment provider, Razorpay Software Private Limited, loads its secure checkout from razorpay.com. Razorpay may set its own cookies to process your payment, prevent fraud and meet its regulatory obligations. These are necessary for a payment you have asked to make, and they are governed by Razorpay's privacy and cookie policies https://razorpay.com/privacy-policy/. When you sign in with Google, or connect a social-media account such as Instagram, LinkedIn or YouTube, you are taken to that company's own website, where it may set cookies under its own cookie policy, which we do not control. Apart from Google Analytics, we do not embed third-party advertising, social-media tracking pixels or "like" buttons in the Service.

7. Advertising and tracking

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, tracking pixels or fingerprinting. We do not sell personal information collected through cookies or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not allow third parties, including Google, to use information collected on the Service for their own advertising.

8. Your consent and choices

When you first visit sociocrush.com, we show a cookie banner. Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent, because the Service cannot work without them. Analytics cookies, and in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom also referral cookies, are set only if you accept them. The banner lets you accept all, reject all, or choose by category, and rejecting is as easy as accepting. If you close the banner without choosing, only strictly necessary cookies are used.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page, as easily as you gave it. When you withdraw consent, we stop setting the cookies concerned and delete the cookies we have set on sociocrush.com. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a rejection of analytics cookies. We keep a record of your choice for 12 months as proof of consent, and we will ask you again when that period ends or when we make a material change to the cookies we use.

9. Information for specific regions

European Economic Area- We follow the national laws implementing Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and the consent standard of the General Data Protection Regulation. Only strictly necessary cookies are set without your consent, and you may withdraw consent at any time.

United Kingdom- We follow the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025. Strictly necessary cookies, and technologies that remember your choices about the appearance or functionality of the Service, do not require consent. Google Analytics and referral cookies are used only with your consent. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

India- Where a cookie identifier is linked to you, it is personal data, and we process it in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules and, as its provisions take effect, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We ask for your consent before using analytics cookies, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.

United States- We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We honour Global Privacy Control signals as described in section 8. There is no common standard for "Do Not Track" signals, so we do not respond to them.

10. Controlling cookies through your browser

Most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies and local storage, and block third-party cookies. You can find instructions in your browser's help pages:

If you block or delete strictly necessary cookies, you will be signed out and parts of the Service will not work. Deleting local storage resets your theme and sidebar preferences.

11. Changes to this Policy

We will update this Policy whenever we add, remove or change a cookie or similar technology, and we will change the "Last updated" date above. If a change introduces a new category of non-essential cookie, we will ask for your consent before using it.

12. Contact
